Bio-marine Ingredients Ireland pays tribute to ‘a real visionary’

“Words that lend themselves perfectly to the sort of character that was Martin Howley,” remarked CEO of BII, Jason Whooley.

 

“Many tributes have been paid to Martin in the sombre hours that have followed his passing. The outpouring of heartfelt sentiments and genuine emotion say so much about a man who was such a driving force in the fishing industry.

 

“Martin was quite simply, a great man. He had an uncanny knack of drawing people to him, of bringing people with him. He was a natural leader who saw the positives in the most difficult of predicaments. He was at ease in any company. Martin’s warmth and sincerity as a person saw him held in the highest regard by all who knew him. 

“As somebody who joined BII relatively recently, I cannot begin to explain how much effort Martin put in and his enthusiasm for the project. Regardless of the scale of the challenge and the pioneering nature of the project, Martin wanted it to happen on his home patch and firmly believed it could. It was one of his many visions for the industry.

“The team at Bio-marine Ingredients Ireland wishes to extend its sincere sympathies to our valued colleague Mary, Martin’s sister; his wife Teresa, sons Noel, Pauric and Shaun, daughter Marguerite and his extended family,” concluded Mr Whooley.
