Bradan Beatha was built by Aquastar Workboats, Cork in 1995 under the supervision of the Marine Survey Office, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and BIM.

She is laid out with wheelhouse and saloon on main deck level. Sleeping quarters are located forward below decks and aft of the collision bulkhead. A tank space is located amidships below the saloon. The engineroom is located aft with access from a hatch on the main deck. An inflatable carried on the aft deck is launched and recovered with a folding hydraulic crane.

Forward accommodation. All bunks are located forward and accessed by the watertight door shown.

The walk-around deckhouse allows access forward at main deck level.

The main deck is flush over the engineroom whih a raised coaming to provide access and limited headroom. A cradle is provided for an inflatable dinghy. A folding hydraulic crane is used to launch and recover the dinghy or other equipment stored on deck

Bradán Beatha is fitted with two Volvo Penta main engines driving reduction gears and fixed pitch propellers. These engines were not seen running. Service history for main engines was not presented at the time of inspection.

Certification

Bradán Beatha was built under MSO Survey and so is suitable to be licensed as a Passenger Boat, subject to MSO Survey.
